Mini picker guide: the crane that carries the load through the door.

A Jekko MPK lifts, drives, and sets with no outriggers and no exhaust. Here is what it does that a forklift and a mini crane cannot.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
→A mini picker is a self-propelled pick-and-carry crane: it lifts the load and drives with it, no outriggers, on battery power.
→It suspends and positions from above, which a forklift cannot, and it travels with the load, which a mini crane mostly cannot.
→With a vacuum lifter, the MPK10.2 and MPK20.2 become glass-installation robots for storefront and interior glazing.

1. What a mini picker is

A Jekko MPK is a compact, battery-powered crane with a telescopic boom and counterweight, designed for controlled pick-and-carry work. Stability depends on the exact configuration and operating conditions in its chart and manual. Confirm the controls and travel limits on the supplied unit. The range includes the MPK06.2, MPK10.2, MPK20.2, and MPK50.

The picker's niche is the load that cannot be approached with forks, has to be positioned from above, and has to move across the floor to get there: glass, stone, machinery components, and anything with lifting points on top.

3. Glass-robot mode

A compatible vacuum lifter can support glazing work: pick a panel from a rack, move it to the opening, and position it while the crew sets it. Compatibility, the attachment mounting, panel limits, and the combined-machine chart must be confirmed for the exact picker and lifter. The glass lifting guide covers manipulator selection. Apply the manufacturer deductions and never assume a lifter rating is the capacity of the complete machine.glass lifting guide

4. Reading the picker chart

Capacity is indexed by radius and boom extension like any crane, but there is no outrigger level to choose; the chart assumes the machine is on firm, level ground with the counterweight fitted. Capacity falls fast with radius because the whole machine is the counterweight. Travel with the load only on the surface and slope the manual allows, boom low, and never on a ramp beyond the rated grade.

5. Indoors

Battery-electric MPK machines avoid engine exhaust at the point of use. Confirm the charger, dimensions, and complete transport weight for the fitted configuration before indoor delivery. Elevator access requires approval for both the total load and the concentrated wheel loads; neither a compact footprint nor battery power establishes floor suitability. Larger pickers need the same documented access and floor checks.

6. When a mini picker is the right call

  • Storefront, interior, and shower glass moving from a rack to an opening
  • Stone slabs, countertops, and panels that need to be set from above
  • Machinery components in a workshop with no room for outriggers
  • Warehouses and retail interiors where forklifts cannot reach the placement point
  • Any lift where the load has to travel and be positioned from above
