CLE rents equipment bare: we deliver the machine, you run it. That is the norm for mini cranes, carry decks, and aerial lifts, and it is different from the operated-and-maintained model most people know from truck cranes. Here is where the line sits.
01What bare rental means
You rent the crane the way you would rent an excavator. It arrives with everything it needs to work, you supply the person who works it, and the lift plan, rigging, signaling, and site control are yours. There is no operator on our invoice and no operator on our payroll at your site.
02What CLE provides
- The machine, inspected and fueled or charged, in the configuration quoted
- The matching operator manual and applicable load charts for the supplied configuration, confirmed before rental; an unavailable chart is not replaced by a generic table
- Any attachments and ground protection on the order
- Delivery and pickup, with a setup walkthrough of controls, remote pairing, outrigger sequence, and the stability display at handover
- Spec sheets, pad reactions, and planning support before delivery, plus the planning tools on this site
- Certificate of insurance on the equipment, naming the GC where required
- Phone support and service response during the rental
03What you provide
- A trained operator, certified where the machine class and the jurisdiction require it
- Rigging, slings, and below-the-hook devices unless rented from CLE
- The lift plan, the signal person, and the exclusion zone
- Site access, floor and ground verification, and any engineer's review the building requires
- Power: the approved charging supply or electric supply for the specific machine and configuration
- Fuel for diesel machines beyond the delivered tank
- Return in the condition received, normal wear excepted
04Why it works for mini cranes
A mini crane is run from a radio remote by someone standing at the load. On glazing, machinery, and mechanical work that person is usually the installer or the rigger who already knows the pick, not a crane operator watching from a cab. Bare rental puts the machine in the hands of the crew doing the work, at a day rate with no operator markup, for as many days as the job runs. It also means the same crew can move the crane between picks and shifts without scheduling anyone.
05Operator questions
Operator training and certification depend on the machine, configuration, work and jurisdiction. Confirm the requirements with your employer and site before booking. The NCCCO guide and the derated Jekko post discuss the distinction; a derate does not remove employer training duties. You are responsible for arranging a qualified operator. CLE supplies bare equipment only and does not supply or source operators.
